Mum's the word for Dodo Pad's Managing Director

Mum is most definitely the word for the Managing Director of Dodo Pad, after she was shortlisted to win two business accolades for mothers in the UK.

Rebecca Jay is being heralded as something of a 'mumpreneur' by judges of the Business Mum Awards, who have praised her for 'innovation, courage and determination' in developing and maintaining one of the most successful stationery brands in Britain.

She has been shortlisted to win the 'mum of notable recognition' and 'mum inventors & designers' categories, which came as a complete shock to Rebecca when she found out.

Since taking over control of Dodo Pad in 1996, following the birth of her son James, turnover has increased by an average of 25 - 30 per cent each year with a similar profit percentage year on year.

Rebecca said: “I had no idea I had even been shortlisted, so it came as a complete surprise. I'm not sure how the judges came about me and Dodo Pad, so it is a real boost to know we are being recognised like this.”

Dodo Pad prides itself on its eclectic range of diaries, personal organisers and planners, which have been in circulation for almost 50 years. Boasting eye-catching illustrations and quirky quotes and quips, each Dodo Pad is packed with personality to leave a lasting impression on each day of the calendar year.

From a single product line in 1996, there are now more than 50 covering every day organisers as well as the diary and calendar brand staples - and the range keeps on growing.
