Clarion Events has announced that it is to be acquired by Informa, a leading international B2B live events group, bringing together two highly complementary organisations with a shared commitment to growth, innovation and customer value. The acquisition reflects the strength of Clarion's portfolio of market-leading brands, its strong positions across a range of attractive sectors and geographies, and the expertise and commitment of its people.

For Clarion, becoming part of a larger global organisation provides brands with access to increased scale, investment, capabilities and international reach.
Lisa Hannant, Chief Executive Officer of Clarion Events, said: "This marks an important new chapter for our business. We have built a portfolio of market-leading brands, established strong positions in attractive markets and created a culture that is recognised across our industry. Informa's decision to invest in Clarion is a recognition of the quality of our business, our brands and our people. This is a moment to recognise the outstanding contribution of our teams. Their passion, expertise and commitment have helped build the successful business that Informa is investing in today. Together, we see significant opportunities to accelerate growth, expand our reach and continue investing in the products, services and experiences that create value for our customers and communities around the world. We are grateful to Blackstone for their support and stewardship over the years, helping us invest in our people, our brands and our long-term growth."
Stephen A. Carter, Informa Group CEO, said: "Clarion is home to world-class B2B brands and talent. We share the same focus on serving major, specialist and international markets and delivering impact and value to our customers and partners. We’re excited to bring Clarion’s brands and teams into the Informa group and to further grow and expand our leading international B2B Live Events business.”

For customers, exhibitors, sponsors, partners and suppliers, business will continue as usual. Clarion remains focused on delivering exceptional events and experiences, supporting the industries and communities it serves, and investing in the continued development of its brands.
The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions. Goldman Sachs International acted as Sole Financial Adviser to Clarion Events.
