National Association of Jewellers re-launches JET Practical Training Days

National Association of Jewellers re-launches JET Practical Training Days: Image 1 The National Association of Jewellers has announced that it is set to re-launch its JET Practical Training Days, having teamed up with the UK Assay Offices in London, Birmingham and Sheffield.

The training days provide an opportunity for colleagues to gain theoretical knowledge that is contained in the JET qualifications. This includes the chance to identify coloured gemstones, diamonds and diamond simulants, using the relevant tools. Participants will also learn how to read and interpret hallmarks and will be given the opportunity to take a tour of the hallmarking floor, learn more about the history of hallmarking, and see the techniques first-hand.

The NAJ is also looking to collaborate with the Edinburgh and Dublin Assay Offices in the future.

Marion Wilson from the Birmingham Assay Office says, Our industry needs people who are knowledgeable, enthusiastic and motivated more than ever before. We arepleased to cooperate with the NAJ in delivering these practical sessions. Previous interactive days offered by the Birmingham Assay Office received fantastic feedback and we are confident that delegates will find these courses really worthwhile."
