Gibsons teams up with One Tribe on climate action initiative

As part of its sustainability mission, the 100-year-old family-owned jigsaw puzzle and board game company, Gibsons, has announced that it has joined forces with One Tribe, the certified B corporation whose digital platform enables them to help fight the climate crisis.

For every order that is placed through its website, Gibsons Games has committed to making a donation to protect 100sqm of rainforest, which in turn will help reduce its carbon footprint and helping to save our planet.

Bachmann Europe appointed as UK and Ireland distributor for Günther toys

Bachmann Europe has announced its appointment as a UK and Ireland distributor for the Günther range of outdoor toys.

For more than 65 years Günther has been developing and producing 'Anything that Flies!' – classic children's kites, dynamic stunt kites, model aircraft, gliders, and a variety of airborne toys. Many of the products are made in their factory in Germany, where they are manufactured to the highest of standards.

The brand ethos is to encourage families away from screens and get back to the great outdoors.

Denby featured on BBC’s Inside the Factory with Gregg Wallace

Denby has been chosen to represent the ceramics industry after TV programme Inside the Factory called to create an episode featuring the process of making a mug.

As an item found in every home, we witness a mug (in this case Denby's best-selling Halo mug) transforming from raw clay all the way through to finished product.

Given each piece of Denby passes through over 20 pairs of hands at its 200-year-old Derbyshire pottery, using handcrafting skills passed down through generations, Gregg Wallace has lots to do to create his mug, guided by Operations Director, Dean Barlow.

Bira launches new trading platform Neartoo to help indies recover from pandemic

The British Independent Retailers Association (Bira) is calling on independent retailers to sign up to its new online trading site to help them recover from the pandemic.

The website, which is being launched in February 2022, will provide independent retailers with a new, cost-effective way to sell online, helping them build their presence both locally and nationally.

The UK-wide platform, called Neartoo, is open to all types of retail and will be owned by indies, exclusively for indies, and will operate at significantly lower sales commission than its competitors.

Joe Davies appointed as Xpressions distributor to independent retail

Joe Davies has been appointed as distributor for Xpressions 4 U Limited for some of the most popular Xpressions Ranges to independent retailers. Retailer favourite brands such as Pots of Dreams, Boofle, Nordic Lights, Feather & Grace, Only Fools & Horses, Dad's Army and Minecraft will be available from Joe Davies from January 2022.

In addition to retailers being able to order Xpressions from Joe Davies from January, the collection will also be on display on the Joe Davies stand at NEC Spring Fair, 6th to 9th February 2022. Prices are unchanged for customers.

The Puppet Company signs soft toy contract with WWF-UK

The Puppet Company, the largest wholesaler of puppets and soft toys in Europe, has announced that it has signed a contract with WWF-UK as the new supplier of the soft toys sent to supporters who take out a WWF-UK animal adoption.

The Puppet Company has also announced its accreditation with the eco label Blue Angel. The Puppet Company is the only UK toy company accredited and one of only two toy companies in Europe to be awarded this certification for soft toys, which reduces impacts on the environment.

Enesco supports trade customers with airfreight to overcome stock issues

Enesco Ltd is planning to airfreight in stocks of seasonal goods to support its customers in the run up to Christmas.

The company recognises the difficult situation that faces all its valued customers under the current climate, and it hopes this action will ease some of the burden.

Phil Atherton, Commercial Director, says, "The supply chain is under huge stress currently from factories in China struggling to cope with ongoing covid issues and a lack of electricity. Add to this shipping line delays and the lorry driver shortages that we are seeing across the UK; we feel that any help that we can give our trade partners will be welcomed. This is the key trading period in what has been a tough year for all the trade and if we can do our bit to support our valued customers then we should take the opportunity to do that."

Wedding and party manufacturer Neviti launches new website

Wedding and party manufacturer Neviti has announced the launch of a new website, www.neviti.com. The new website is open to both trade and retail customers and Neviti is inviting those with shops and businesses in the party industry to sign up for a trade account. As a thank you they will receive a 10 percent discount voucher to use against their next order placed on the website. Company Director, Tracey Cooper said, "After an extremely difficult 18 months in the party industry we are extremely proud to be launching our new website."
