As we enter into the A/W season, our aim is to keep offering great value products and to be mindful of the pressure customers may be facing but we hope that our products will continue to put a smile on peoples’ faces. How do you view the future of independent retail post-pandemic? Actually, pretty hopeful. In our opinion there is real opportunity on the high street, if landlords are able to be a bit more realistic about rents and length of leases, then that should give boutique businesses more opportunity to thrive. We do hope that more people are looking to support local businesses and of course there will be continued growth in online retail to support consumers buying preferences. Are you active on social media? How is this important for the business? We’ve put a huge drive behind our social media in the last 12 months as we recognise how important it is for engaging with our customers and enables us to communicate directly with our fan-base. Our aim is to really let our products do the talking whilst showing customers all the added benefits we engineer into them, as well as offering lots of fun hacks and how-to’s. Do you have any advice for new businesses starting out in the world of gifts? Have more belief in yourself, don’t hold back! We’ve learnt to trust our gut and intuition over the years!” What can we expect in the future from the company? Expect the unexpected! No day, month or year is ever the same at Mad!
