Learn more about the process here… When did you start up and why? Product Guru launched in Autumn 2018 with a mission to connect brands and buyers. We make what can be a complicated and difficult process simple and seamless with the help of our product discovery platform that hosts over 10k+ challenger brands and our events that include our Huddle hybrid events and our newly launched POP concept store events. What prompted you to launch the business? Our founder, Simon Coyle, spent years selling to high street retailers and the UK grocery market and became aware of the challenge (for both buyers and suppliers) in getting the right products in the right hands at the right time. Despite successfully selling to many of the bigger UK retailers, it took a lot of hard work to get products in front of retailers. Retail buyers are inundated with product samples and information, and with no meaningful process in place to review all these options, opportunities were being missed for both parties. Product Guru has been shaped by these personal experiences and frustrations. We’re reinventing how products end up on shelves, making it simple, accessible and seamless. What challenges have you overcome since the company’s launch? Our main mission involves meeting the needs of brands and buyers in the industry. Our business has grown alongside a rapidly changing economy that comes with a unique set of challenges that may not have existed pre-pandemic. These changes within the retail sector and overall economy have empowered us to create a suite of resilient tools that enable brands to connect with retailers in innovative ways.
