48 Have any styles taken you by surprise with their popularity? Merry Christmas from the Dog! Anything with a dog or cat on is always popular – and for good reason. How do you keep your designs fresh and current? Do you follow trends? Absolutely. We regularly hold staff meetings where ideas, palettes, trends and fonts are discussed. It’s all about the critical path – something I knew nothing about when I first started! What sets you apart from your competitors? After 16 years of publishing cards, I (hope) we offer a modern, fresh take on what a traditional greetings card is. Whilst we don’t necessarily do humour on our cards – there is still a huge market for beautiful, inspiring product – something I think we do well. How are you finding the current coronavirus climate? What are your thoughts on the future? Whilst trade sales have ground to a halt, our retail sales have gone through the roof. Selling via a number of platforms, it’s clear that greetings cards still play a major role in people’s collective consciousnesses. The written word is still strong, which is lovely to see.
