43 HOMI PREVIEW All that glitters We look at HOMI’s new fashion and jewellery show, HOMI Fashion&Jewels HOMI Fashion&Jewels is a new exhibition project by Fiera Milano dedicated entirely to fashion accessories and custom jewellery, coming to the Rho Fiera Milano for the first time in September. The exhibition will bring together the legacy of these sectors previously established by the HOMI lifestyles fair, creating what the organiesrs describe as a “comprehensive” and “one-of-a-kind” event. The showcase is set to comprise a huge variety of exhibitors, from major brands and international companies to startups, emerging creatives and designers. To meet the increasingly seasonal world of fashion and the fast-paced trends, HOMI Fashion&Jewels will take place twice a year—in September and February. The events are scheduled to line up with the biggest Milan fashion events, offering a point of reference for retailers and trend- setters and giving all fashion operators the chance to draw on the wealth of opportunities Milan has to offer. TALKS AND TRAINING Research and experimentation will play a key role. SPERIMENTA spaces will host new creations, exclusive and original pieces and small examples of design excellence, attended by designers, companies and artisans scouted to deliver a comprehensive experience with unrivalled quality. Additionally, specialist areas like Tuttepazzeperibijoux will provide an opportunity to discover niche items of jewellery. Conceived and curated by Maria Elena Capelli, jewellery blogger for Tuttipazzeperibijoux, this section will be a point of reference for concept stores and jewellers looking for distinctive, handmade and high-quality jewellery. Talks and workshops will run through the event, delivered by industry experts to provide advice on increasing profitability and making the most of the fashion world. There will also be fashion shows aplenty; on the HOMI catwalk, the current season’s most representative collections will be displayed in a mix-and-match of custom jewellery and accessories.
