New beginnings

Happy new year! After a nerve-wracking wait to see if any new restrictions would be put in place, it was wonderful to this year be able to spend the festive season with our loved ones. Although I know the spread of Omicron has dampened some plans for people. However, looking forward, we are now celebrating a new year and the return of shows such as Spring Fair and Top Drawer, which has been postponed to 20-22 February.
In the Nov/Dec issue of Gift Focus we showcase the ideal buys for Valentine’s Day, Gifts Under £10 and ethical goods, amongst all the usual stellar content that helps you on your buying journey to curate the best in-store offerings you can.
Don’t forget to check out the Jan/Feb issue, which will have a bumper feature on Spring Fair, as well as Mother’s Day, Anniversary Gifts and Easter.

See you at the shows!

Frankfurt consumer goods fairs in January and February 2022 to be cancelled

Frankfurt consumer goods fairs in January and February 2022 to be cancelled

In view of the exponential worsening of the pandemic situation worldwide and the accompanying tightened travel and contact regulations, the consumer goods fairs Christmasworld, Paperworld, and Creativeworld are cancelled for January 2022 and Ambiente for mid-February 2022. The regionally-oriented trade fair Nordstil from 15 to 17 January 2022 in Hamburg will take place at the present time. The easing of the pandemic situation that was still hoped for in December is no longer in sight. Instead, the situation is deteriorating worldwide with an enormous, unforeseeable dynamic. This extreme deterioration due to the spread of the Omicron virus in Europe and Germany currently makes it impossible for Messe Frankfurt, as organiser of the leading international trade fairs Christmasworld, Paperworld, and Creativeworld, as well as Ambiente, to keep their dates in Frankfurt at the end of January and in mid-February 2022.

Top Drawer S/S22 Postponed to February 2022

Following the significant increase of Omicron Covid-19 Variant cases within London and across the UK, show organisers have taken the decision to postpone Top Drawer Spring. The event will now take place from 20th to 22nd February 2022.

Show Director, Russell Rule comments: "We are committed to bringing you Top Drawer S/S22 in a safe environment that you can feel comfortable attending for your yearly buying needs. With this in mind we feel it's the right decision to postpone to a later date in the same buying season. We will always work in the best interests of our exhibitors, visitors, contractors and staff and we believe a safe and successful event can be run in late February 2022. I'd like to extend a huge thank you to the industry for its patience, understanding and support in these challenging times".
