Bringing a fresh simplicity to busy modern lives, Pantry joins the Burleigh, part of Denby, portfolio. Included in the collection is square shaped storage jars, hand decorated with a simple badge declaring the items function: Tea, Coffee and Sugar. There is also a cute One Cup Teapot. In addition, the new shapes extend to Burleigh’s most iconic patterns of Calico and Asiatic Pheasants.

Burleigh was established in Stoke-on-Trent in 1851 and world famous for its blue and white ceramics that are hand made in England using traditional techniques. Burleigh is the only pottery in the world to decorate its ware using tissue transfer printing from hand engraved copper plates which is a 250-year-old process that takes seven years to master.

Monet placemat wins an award

Monet placemat wins an award

The new doodle Monet placemat set from GA member, eatsleepdoodle, has won the Best New Product Award in the gift category at the NY NOW show. The new award was judged by a panel of media and industry experts at the New York fair in order to ‘recognise and celebrate exceptional offerings from exhibitors across the market’. The placemat design from the Salisbury based doodle exponents is inspired by Monet’s great impressionist paintings of the Japanese-style bridge and water-lily pond that he created at his home in Giverny.

Now anyone can doodle and colour-in their own mini-Monet on the printed cotton placemats, with the wash-out fabric pens in the set allowing them to create as many versions as they wish. Kate Barker, eatsleepdoodle’s brand and marketing director, who created the concept and the Monet doodle, said: “We’re thrilled to have won this award and to be flying the flag for great British design. We are lucky enough to work with some of the great American and European museums and galleries, as well as a whole host of wonderfully creative retailers, and this really keeps us inspired and determined to bring new ideas to the market.”

Two Little Boys is continuing to add titles to its bestselling, I’m going to… range, including six new pocket sized A6 notebooks to delight friends and family. Fun new statements include a nod to Tim Peake, ‘I’m going to be an Astronaut’ and this is my plan, a wishful, ‘I’m going to Ace my Exam’, and one for the hassled mum or teenager, ‘I’m going to be organised’. The success of the range has been simple – purchase has never been merely about gifting a notebook, they are statements that mean either I know you or I believe in you. Interesting to note that the bestselling titles across the entire range have been Change the World and Ridiculously Rich, with Princess and Superhero following close behind.
