53 SCOTLAND’S TRADE FAIR SPRING Retailers who want to be at the forefront of the Scottish retail industry should head to Scotland’s Trade Fair Spring from 18-20th Jan 2026 at the SEC, Glasgow. So, what’s so special about this Show? It is always recognised as an ‘innovative Show’, with a band of creative and exciting suppliers. Many only exhibit here, so it’s a rare chance to stock up on something a bit different. New and fresh are two more adjectives often attributed to the Show and huge effort is put in each year to find new companies. The ever-popular Launch Gallery is at the centre of this effort, a strip of 30 start-ups, new to wholesale with some excellent original products, such as Laconic Jewellery, Brown & Bridge homewares, Art by Annie Grant and Kunal Tewari Photography. In the Craft Gallery worth checking out is Clare Goddard Design and Studio Yoki, while the Textiles section is delighted to welcome brands such as Minta by Araminta Campbell and Remony. New to Home & Gift is Home County Co, Gingko Designs and Libra Fine Art, among a host of others. Retail is going through tough times in this challenging economic period, but for those outlets that listen to their customers, stock the right products and keep ahead of their competitors, business is buoyant. Hidden gems At Scotland’s Trade Fair retailers often find ‘hidden gems’, which delights their customers, and drives footfall. Missing the show could mean they losing out on some pioneering products, so many buyers report that attendance is vital to keep ahead in the market. Dawn Kane from Scottish Seabird Centre said: “Visiting Scotland’s Trade Fair is really important. Not only is it great to meet up with current suppliers and chat over products and possibly see new ranges, but it’s really helpful to see upcoming trends in the market and speak to possible new suppliers and to find that next must have product for your retail space.” Visitors are looking for more than just a day of sourcing and buying. The Talking Shop Seminar Theatre is the place to learn, be inspired and listen to some fascinating retail experts. With subjects such as 2026 retail trends, mastering TikTok and AI and visual merchandising, this is the place to be educated. Best in show For the best in Show check out the Best Product Awards, judged by industry experts. Sponsored by the Giftware Association this rewards the best products in the Show. Show Director Mark Saunders said: “Retail has its challenges at the moment but for those savvy retailers the rewards are good. The Scotland’s Trade Fair team are working harder than ever this year to bring the most inspiring, commercial and creative products for our visitors to see, source and order. So be at the SEC, Glasgow in mid January to ensure your stock is fresh and marketable for 2026.” Iatnnitosvbaetsiton Stay ahead of the competition by attending Scotland’s Trade Fair Spring IN BRIEF: WHO: Scotland’s Trade Fair Spring, www.scotlandstradefairs.com WHERE: SEC, Glasgow WHEN: 18-20 January, 2026
