42 A SCENT FOR ALL SEASONS Incense brand Dip & Glow is all about the scents – from traditional incense to the more alternative smells of Fizzy Pop and Sizzlin Bacon, there really is something for everyone. Jo Everall, Proprietor, tells us more… When did you start up and why? Dip and Glow was founded in the Autumn of 2022, to ensure the continuation of Wild Berry distribution in the UK. What prompted you to launch the business? My Dad, John, and partner Carol had run Jaycia for the past 21 years as UK distributors for Wild Berry but were long overdue retirement! Wild Berry is such as iconic incense brand that we didn’t want to lose it and it was a great opportunity to keep the business in the family. What challenges have you overcome since the company’s launch? We are a small business supporting the independent retail trade and as such we feel every bump that the retailers feel! Their challenges are our challenges too. Our customer base is hugely important to us and great customer service is something that we pride ourselves on. Growing our customer base whilst ensuring we don’t cannibalise existing customers and continue to support them in the way that we always have is a challenge, but one that we are rising to! Tell us about your product offering. We offer the full Wild Berry range including Traditional Incense Sticks, “Shorties”, Cones, Backflow Cones, Garden Incense, Wax Melts, Oils and newly launched incense powders. Wild Berry is an iconic incense brand and nothing else in the marketplace compares to it. Once you have smelt the quality of Wild Berry there really is no going back! What are your most popular products? The traditional sticks are our bread and butter, customers come back week after week, year after year for them. Some of the most popular fragrances are not offered by other brands and that is what makes Wild Berry so appealing. Fairy Dust, Fizzy Pop, Cherry Vanilla, Shooting Star and Dragon’s Blood are all best sellers because they are unique to Wild Berry and offer something different to the customer. Have any styles taken you by surprise with their popularity? Some of the fragrances are a little unusual! It never ceases to surprise me how we sell so much of Sizzlin Bacon or Rugged Leather but with over 100 fragrances Wild Berry is making sure that they offer something for everyone! How do you keep your designs fresh and current? Do you follow trends? Wild Berry is obviously all about the scents, so it is not trend following in the traditional sense, but there are trends even in fragrances and we do make sure we are aware.
