COMPANY PROFILE 11 What sets you apart from your competitors? We don’t just have exciting products, we truly believe in what we’re doing, trying to make the world a better place. We’re enthusiastic and committed, and we have close relations with our suppliers, so close in fact that one (in Indonesia) is on our Board. We share staff with her, have created a joint catalogue, and are helping her open a showroom in Ubud, the craft capital of Bali. We are also passionate about the environment, recently issuing a comprehensive Sustainability Report to analyse what we’re doing and what more we need to do to improve our performance. What are some stand-out moments since the company launch? Our 10th anniversary; 20th anniversary; 30th anniversary; and in 2026, 40th anniversary… How are you finding the current climate in the UK? Is it affecting business? Sales in our two shops were up 7 percent last year and so far this year, are up 15 percent. Wholesale has been more difficult, with so many retailers suffering with rising costs and falling confidence. We’d love to see more of them benefitting from the ranges we design and source, as our own shops in York and Liverpool have done.
