What are some stand-out moments since the company launch? Reaching our 50th anniversary is a real achievement for the company. Despite stiff competition from elsewhere in the UK and other global brands, we have managed to not only stick around, but continue to grow and evolve all whilst staying true to our Scottish heritage. How are you finding the current climate in the UK? Is it affecting business? The cost of living crisis continues to make things difficult for the industry as a whole. However, we will always strive to stay true to our values and focus on quality and this allows us to maintain a loyal customer base who know and trust us. This means they continue to buy our products for themselves and as gifts for others too. How do you view the future of independent retail? The future of independent retail, particularly for UK gift stores, looks promising -especially for those who can adapt and differentiate themselves. While digital giants and high-street chains continue to dominate the market, independent gift stores have a unique opportunity to thrive by focusing on what makes them special. Success will come from blending digital integration with a strong in-store experience, using social media, e-commerce, and local SEO to reach a wider audience.
