The latest addition to Victoria Eggs’ Royal Collection was created in celebration of the forthcoming Coronation of King Charles III, and has been entirely designed and hand-crafted right here in the UK. The King Charles III Coronation motif bears the National flowers from the UK along with oak, a symbol of strength and stability, and Ivy, the symbol of commitment, which trails throughout this intricately hand-drawn design. Subtle nods to the King’s life are hidden amongst the wildlife and foliage; the eagle, swords, and anchor representing the British Armed Forces, a parachute, pens, and paintbrushes – representing his love and support for the Arts, young people, the countryside and his life-long environmental activism. The fine Bone China ceramics are hand-crafted using Cornish clay in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, the heart of the ‘Potteries’. Using traditional craftsmanship, up to 20 pairs of hands can be involved in making each item. This includes attaching each handle skillfully by hand. Handmade in the UK using sustainable materials and processes. They combine traditional skills with modern technology and delicate craftsmanship. The delicate textiles are carefully screen-printed using environmentally friendly water-based inks, hand sewn and finished by a family run business in Lincolnshire. They have been commended for their fair employment policy and for many years have been dedicated to employing staff with disabilities whenever possible.
