End of life solutions in footwear are mostly absent from the sustainability conversations because they are just too hard (no one wants to unstitch their shoes, separate the different materials and then sort out into the appropriate recycling - if they are even recyclable at all). Our boot is made of two materials – rubber and wool. They are easily separated and so at the end of their days the wool will biodegrade and the rubber can be recycled. There’s no one else out there with sustainability claims like ours, which is why we believe we are making the most sustainable boot on the planet. How important is the location and history of the company to its success? Not very important to be honest. We believe this boot is universal – from beaches to forests to gardens – wool is such an underrated material. We focus more on the magic of wool than its history or location. How often do you launch new lines? We subscribe to a slow fashion philosophy so won’t do seasonal collections. We will have the same style of boot, although we do have different heights - the Classic, the Shortie and the Clog (coming Summer 2023) and different colours of overshoes. We don’t plan on pumping new products into the market as we don’t believe this is sustainable. What are your current best-selling designs? The Classic with a Scarlet Red overshoe.
