Like the cakes off the Great British Bake Off, each candle has its own recipe with dyes being mixed and fragrances being blended. Every candle is individually created using traditional hand poured methods and the finest of ingredients, which are sourced as close to home as possible. Even the candle tins and wicks are made in the UK. Making candles by hand is integral to the Pintail Candles story. The company was started over 25 years ago by owner James Long, who began pouring his own candles in his mother-in-law’s basement before moving to a converted milking parlour. Now firmly established as one of the UK’s finest candle makers, with customers all over the world, Pintail Candles is still making every candle by hand. James believes that the quality and care that comes with a hand poured candle is one of the reasons for Pintail Candles success. It is also an approach that allows greater flexibility to create new ranges and fragrances to meet changing trends. Pintail Candles has certainly been at the forefront of candle innovation whether that is being one of the first in the UK to make tin candles or being one of the first to create occasions candles.
