89 Time to shine T here’s no denying that the fashion industry has been hit hard over the past year. While we have had periods of coming together, on the whole the ongoing lockdown measures have undeniably thrown accessories’ brands and retailers under the bus. The opportunities to dress up and show off the latest outfit have diminished almost to a point of standstill. However, at the time of writing the tide is turning, the road map out of lockdown in the UK is coming into force and we are gearing up to resume normal life – or the new normal as we now know it. And in further good news, accessories have a similar pattern to the lipstick effect – in the time of crisis, smaller pick-up purchases continue, and we predict strong sales in the coming months as consumers ramp up their spending patterns as they enter back into society.
