16 On with the show THE CREATIVE RETAIL AWARDS CONFIRMED FOR OCTOBER The Creative Retail Awards has been confirmed for 14 th October 2021. With the announcement of the new Government COVID-19 roadmap bringing clarity to hold the Creative Retail Awards event live in October, an unprecedented number of companies have requested an extension to the submission deadline. If a project was previously entered into the postponed 2020 Awards the entry has automatically been rolled over and entered into this year’s. All projects completed in 2019 and 2020 are valid to enter the 2021 Awards and all entries will be judged together to create one giant ceremony in October this year. The Creative Retail Awards is truly individual in its blend of celebration, networking and entertainment. To be held at Proud Embankment, London, on 14 th October the evening promises to bring a true spectacle to the world of retail, hospitality and leisure design. The Creative Retail Awards’ Partnerships with leading bodies including Shop & Display Equipment Association, National Association of Shopfitters, British Display Society and the 2020 London Design Festival has helped to solidify the Awards’ position as the pinnacle showcase of worldwide retail design & display, with the UK as its centre. For more information on the Awards, or to request a media pack, please visit www.creativeretailawards.com Trade show updates from home and abroad Harrogate Fashion Week to take place in August Harrogate Fashion Week organisers have announced that the show will take place on the 1 st -2 nd August at the Harrogate Convention Centre, following the Prime Minister’s roadmap out of lockdown. Director Wendy Adams says, “We are delighted to confirm that Harrogate Fashion Week will be going ahead this August after such a disappointing 2020 and we are looking to ensure the event celebrates the endurance of the fashion industry.” After an unprecedented year, HFW 2021 will allow indies and brands to re-unite in the popular event town of Harrogate, and will be a testament to the resolve of boutique owners, suppliers, and fashion businesses throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Director Sarah Moody commented, “It’s expected to be a busy selling season and many brands have already reserved their stands in the excitement of getting back to face-to-face selling. We have had many new contemporary collections along with more special occasion, promwear and shoe brand enquiries than ever before, so definitely see a growth in these areas.” The August show will see returning brands including womenswear labels Marble, Pomodoro, John Charles, Lily & Me, Foil, Focus, Lizabella, Gabriela Sanchez.
