9 EDITOR’S LETTER On the cover As we gear up for Easter, this selection of product from Mosney Mill are the ideal self purchase or gift items. And with the love of home baking continuing to grow, it ticks all the boxes. Email info@mosneymill.co.uk or visit www.mosneymill.co.uk Home is where the heart is While normally we’d be busy treading the aisles of the Spring shows, checking out the plethora of product on offer and analysing trends for the year ahead, we are instead doing the same from the comfort of our own homes. However, with Boris Johnson having recently announced a roadmap out of the restrictions completely by, hopefully, June 21 st , the prospect for physical shows in the latter half of the year is looking positive! We’ve already had Spring Fair and Top Drawer, and now BCTF (page 31) has announced virtual events for its Spring and Autumn offerings. And while it may not be quite the same as the in-person experience, they’re events not to be missed as we get ready for the high street to throw open its doors once more, with online store fronts continuing to bolster their offerings. Of course, analysing trends amidst the ever-changing trading landscape of a global pandemic is challenging at best. However, there are some clear COVID-19 success stories, and what we have witnessed over the past 12 months is the exponential boom in the homewares market. As consumers make their house their sanctuary, for both their personal and working life, the passion for curating a serene, safe space has grown at a surprising rate, and the boom is set to continue. Homeware consumers range from the odd-job pick-up purchaser, the ad-hoc hobbyist, to the full-blown interior’s obsessive – guilty as charged! As such, the audience is wide-ranging and lucrative. With the gift and homewares industries often merging, and many of the shows covering both markets, we have, from this issue, begun to include some pages showcasing the best of the interior’s industry. From smaller products ideal to stock alongside giftware, to larger items perfect to evolve your store and online offering into pastures new (and thriving) – we have it covered. This issue we look at bedroom products, soft furnishings, and items that complement the Pantone Color of the Year color scheme. As if that wasn’t enough, we also focus on Father’s Day, Candles & Home Fragrance, Stationery, and Women’s Jewellery, as well as Clutch Bags and Beach Accessories within Attire Accessories . Enjoy the issue!
