Incorporating natural Baltic amber with contrasting jet and Australian opal, she has designed a sleek, modern collection featuring twelve styles of silver cufflinks. Inspired by simple geometry and Art Deco aesthetics, Beata has put together a contemporary unisex collection celebrating the natural beauty and warmth of amber. Fossilized tree resin up to fifty million years old, amber is an organic living and healing gemstone used and appreciated in many ways since Antiquity. As the surface of amber oxidises the colour develops and changes over time, resulting in a beautiful golden tincture. Beata Gregorczyk launched her initial collection online in January 2016. Endeavouring to work with Baltic amber and use unconventional methods of design and amber mounting, Beata has placed this traditional material within the context of contemporary men’s fashion. Using three traditional types of fittings - chain, T-bar and rigid links – her designs appeal to a range of tastes and styles. The cufflinks are manufactured at the heart of the amber jewellery industry: Gdansk, Poland, by a well-established company. Sarah Watmore, founder of Miss Milly, says, “There are many situations where people are constantly putting their facemasks on and then taking them off again. People in occupations such as teaching, retail and sales roles, and the general public out shopping, will be doing this a lot. Rather than then keeping your mask in your pocket or bag, with a lanyard, you can have it hanging around your neck.” The Miss Milly lanyards attach to your facemask elastic by means of a lobster clasp at each end of the necklace style item. The lanyards each measure 60cm or 24” in length. There are three different designs, one of which comes in three colours, giving a total of five styles to choose from. Trade price £4, RRP of £10-£12.
