13 NEWS & EVENTS Despite coronavirus and the emergency situation worldwide, at the time of writing more than 670 exhibitors are due to attend Christmasworld in Frankfurt am Main, being held between 29 th January-2 nd February, 2021. With 90 percent of the exhibition space already filled, the positive take up showcases that the consumer-goods sector is looking optimistically to the show season post-COVID-19 outbreak. Eva Olbrich, Christmasworld Director at Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH, says, “Our exhibitors and visitors can benefit from personal interchange at Christmasworld 2020, until our lives have reached normality again. Until then it is a matter of survival for our high-street retailers that they should serve their customers online as well.” She continued, “We are glad to see this major response – particularly in the current situation, which is impacting so negatively on both business and society worldwide.” Visit www.christmasworld.messefrankfurt.com OVER 670 REGISTRATIONS FOR CHRISTMASWORLD 2021 IN SIGN OF POSITIVE INDUSTRY TURNAROUND POST COVID-19 OUTBREAK Exclusively Housewares launches digital show alternative With BHETA choosing to cancel Exclusively Live, the organiser has gone digital, launching Exclusively Digital. In view of the rapidly escalating effect of the coronavirus (COVID-19), the BHETA board has postponed Exclusively 2020 until 15 th -16 th June, 2021, in the interim replacing the live show with Exclusively Digital 2020. Exclusively Digital 2020 will be an event for fully paid up exhibitors for this year’s show and will provide an opportunity for those exhibitors to present brands and products to buyers, press and influencers via new interactive features on the Exclusively website. In the meantime, BHETA will carry over exhibitor support and financial commitment to the 2021 show to secure places and offset costs that have either been incurred or will be required to support the show in 2021. For more information on the show check out our Exclusively Digital preview on page 31. Farm Shop & Deli show moves to September date Following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, Farm Shop & Deli show organisers made the announcement they were moving the show date to 7 th - 9 th September, 2020. Taking to a statement, Andrew Reed, Managing Director, Exhibitions, William Reed, said, “We have been working closely with the NEC to secure new dates; Food & Drink Expo, Farm Shop & Deli Show and National Convenience Show will now take place at the NEC on the 7 th- 9 th September 2020. There is not enough hall space to co-locate Foodex and The Ingredients Show on the same date, so these shows will move to 12 th -14 th April, 2021 to coincide with the 2021 running of the William Reed UK Food Shows. “All existing bookings, live event content and visitor registrations remain in place and will be transferred automatically to the new dates. We will be in touch with you individually over the coming days and weeks to facilitate a smooth transition.” Visit www.farmshopanddelishow.co.uk London Stationery Show announces new date Due to the ongoing situation with coronavirus (COVID-19), the team at Ocean Media has taken the difficult decision to postpone London Stationery Show. The new date is 11 th September, 2020 and the show will still take place at its usual venue, the Business Design Centre in Islington, London. All existing registrations will remain in place for the rescheduled date and pre-registration will stay open to enable visitors to register for fast-track entry on arrival at the event. Event Director, Alex Butler commented: “Whilst we would have loved for the show to take place next month, at this present time our number one priority is the health and well-being of our visitors, exhibitors, staff and their families. We are very sad to have to postpone but in light of the current pandemic and clear government guidelines re- scheduling is the best course of action.” This one-day show format will be for 2020 only, and the 2021 edition of London Stationery Show will run over two days as usual.
