Javits Convention Center. NY NOW features three comprehensive collections that encompass more than 2,300 exhibitors showing tens of thousands of products in hundreds of product categories. The summer show will build on the success of this year’s Retail Renaissance Winter Market, during which the show was co-located with the National Stationery Show for the first time. The National Stationery Show is due to co-locate with the Summer Market, and NY NOW will also welcome a new co-location, JA New York, on level one in Halls D and E at the Javits Center. JA New York is a jewellery show held three times a year that pulls together more than 600 jewellery brands. Attendees are expected to visit the show from all 50 states and nearly 70 countries worldwide. The show reports that 67 per cent of its exhibitors come to NY NOW to launch new products, giving visitors a first look at fresh products that will help them stand out from the competition. The show also boasts an easy to navigate floor plan and matchmaking tools to help retailers connect with businesses. The show is split into three sectors. First is HOME, a collection that showcases 1,000 brands focusing on design-forward furnishing and home textiles, interior décor products, tabletop and gourmet housewares. The HOME collection is divided into three curated sections that make it easy to source and shop. Accent on Design is a collection of nearly 150 established and emerging design brands across all home product categories. The contemporary showcase is curated by an independent committee looking for original, creative and authentic product design, new and innovative use of materials, functionality and more. The Home Furnishings + Textiles section offers a full range of home accessories, textiles and furniture for indoor and outdoor use. The section is designed to provide something for every style and price point, with hundreds of leading brands showcasing products covering the full range, from traditional options to contemporary products. Tabletop + Gourmet Housewares encapsulates 250 resources for dinner parties, including kitchenware, speciality tabletop, glassware, dinnerware, cutlery and flatware, table linens, cookware, bakeware, kitchen gadgets and delicious gourmet food. The second sector is LIFESTYLE. This covers four themed sections: Baby + Child, products for children age 0-10 years; Gift, a selection of stationery, collectibles, party and craft supplies, souvenirs, novelties and more; Personal Care + Wellness, a collection of cosmetics, beauty accessories, fragrance, skin, hair and bath and body products; and Personal Accessories, full of fine and fashion jewellery, leather goods, wearables and more. Positioned in the Personal Care + Wellness section, the indieNOW showcase offers a platform for emerging wellness and beauty brands The final sector is HANDMADE. This sector features more than 500 exhibitors and showcases products made in the U.S. and by global artisans. The sector covers the Handmade Designer Maker category for limited-production makers across all categories and medias, Handmade Global Design, which focuses on good design, traditional craftsmanship and community building through the organisation of global artisan workshops and Artisan Resource, a production-sourcing opportunity connecting U.S.-based importers with international producers and exporters. This year, HANDMADE will open a day early on Saturday, along with the National Stationery Show. Executive vice president Kevin O’Keefe explained: “NY NOW is excited to make this major date change, allowing buyers to make innovative product discoveries that they might not have had time for before. The HANDMADE collection is the largest handmade exhibition in the Americas, includes six major country groups and thousands of one-of-a-kind products that span all categories across HOME and LIFESTYLE. The National Stationery Show will present more than 100 emerging artists and the very best in better stationery products. Buyers asked for a dedicated day, and we are very happy to be able to make this happen.” IN BRIEF Show NY NOW Organiser Emerald Expositions When 10 th -14 th August, 2019 10 th -13 th August HANDMADE, National Stationery Show (co-location) 11 th -14 th August LIFESTYLE, HOME and JA New York (co-location) Where Javits Center, New York Website nynow.com Twitter @nynowmarket
