64 Environmentally conscious products to appeal to shops and customers watching their impacts Jarapa is a sustainable, ethical business celebrating 17 years specialising in recycled and natural products in 2019. Fully aware of the impact on the environment, director Stewart Bowen has worked tirelessly to run a business with a small footprint that helps to divert waste from landfills. Packaging within the business is also all recyclable. The recycled glass products are sourced from Spain, where the waste glass is collected, cleaned and turned into beautiful 100 per cent recycled glass products. The rugs are made by a small family business that uses leftover fibres, mostly cotton, from the upholstery industries. The exciting range of lamps is made in Dorset in Jarapa’s purpose-built warehouse, using recycled glass vases and bottles. This year, Jarapa has increased the collection of lamps to include new colours and styles to sit perfectly with the latest trends in interior design. The most popular are the burgundy, pink and smoke lamps, available from tabletop to large floor- standing statement lamps. New lampshades have been introduced, made only six miles from the warehouse. Also available are bamboo travel mugs with bamboo tops. They come in a range of designs, including William Morris branded varieties, with assorted design four packs available to trade customers in 350ml or 600ml size. The cups are sustainable, as well as dishwasher and microwave safe. A brand-new eco-friendly range of tableware is also available, featuring tropical patterns and bamboo beakers, bowls, plates, jugs and trays in two sizes. The fibre of bamboo closely resembles wood and appears destined to become the wood alternative for the 21 st -century. The fibre is being used in a sustainable way, and Lesser & Pavey is delighted to bring durable and sustainable products to the market.
