The shows attract key buyers from all sectors of the housewares and small electricals markets, from specialist stores to department stores, garden centres, cook shops and home and hardware stores. The shows offer a great opportunity for shops and buyers of all descriptions to look at the latest releases, with fresh products to entice shoppers into stores. In two packed days, visitors will be able to see new products from more than 125 exhibitors, including more than 16 new exhibitors in Exclusively Housewares and five in Exclusively Electrical. TRENDS Trend consultant Scarlet Opus will return to the shows this year, providing invaluable insight into trends set to influence the homewares sector over the next few seasons. Scarlet Opus provides in-depth predictions about the future wants, needs and desires of consumers, including how people will be living and what they will want to surround themselves with, focusing on colours, materials, patterns, textures and shapes. Scarlet Opus will present two trend talks in the trend hub, housed in the Atrium, at 10:30am each day. These informative and highly recommended presentations will bring to life the next 18 months of trends and have proved popular in recent years. In addition, the trend hub above Exclusively Electrical will house Scarlet Opus’ trend display, incorporating exhibitor products selected in the context of the three consumer and designer trends identified for 2020. Trend interpreters will be on hand to talk buyers and visitors through the displays. Scarlet Opus will also host trend tours. Led by one of the Scarlet Opus trend interpreters, they will point out recommended on-trend products and explain the reason why they are forecast to be on-trend. Tour bookings can be made on the show website now, with private tours available for groups of five or more. Scarlet Opus reports the coming trends as: • Autumn/Winter 2018-2019: Traveller. Establishing fairness is central to the trend’s agenda, focusing on an era of transparency and clarity. The trend is focused on restoring balance, order and correctness. • Spring/Summer 2020: Fellowship. The fellowship trend is all about the power of the collective. Consideration for the planet, farmers and factory workers and materials. The trend considers the global outlook, revolting against establishments and moving to a more relaxed environment.
