Gift Focus - Jan/Feb 2019 (Issue 111)

This year’s show promises a great start to the year with the latest jewellery releases and a new seminar theatre. A new future Jewellery & Watch is a dedicated jewellery trade event, showcasing a wide offering of new ideas and inspiration from a host of brands, wholesalers and manufacturers. The show is co-located with Spring Fair to serve the needs of today’s retailers, whether traditional jewellers, gifting specialists or e-commerce stores. ITE Group purchased the event alongside sister show Spring Fair in May 2018 and has outlined ambitious plans to grow both shows with significant investment and a refreshed focus on content. The 2019 Jewellery & Watch Show will introduce a new seminar theatre, known as The Studio, featuring keynote interviews with leading and emerging designers, along with trend insights to help attendees take advantage of changes in the marketplace. This will be supported by technical and educational sessions designed to equip retailers with business- boosting insights. The fruits of ITE Group’s investment and new management ethos will be most visible in Jewellery & Watch 2020, although benefits will be seen in February. Long-term goals focus on boosting return on investment for exhibitors, creating a content-driven experience for visitors and encouraging buyer movement of buyers from Spring Fair and into Jewellery & Watch. The show is unveiling a new layout, which promises easier navigation of the show floor by grouping businesses based on specialism and sector. Kirsty Broere, Jewellery & Watch event manager, said: “It is no secret that the global trade show market is facing challenges, especially in terms of market participation. Jewellery & Watch is all about starting the new year on the right foot and offering the UK trade the chance to see what’s fresh. Whether you choose to catch up on the post-Christmas sentiment, meet existing clients or find something new, Jewellery & Watch is all about starting the year positively and with purpose.” Assisting in this mission to kickstart the jewellery business year are many prominent exhibitors including Gecko, HW Tankel, Connoisseurs UK, Hanron Jewellery, Jo for Girls, Azendi, London Pearl, Marjo Pilgrim, Storm of London, UJT and Wedds & Co. Jewellery brands and businesses located in Spring Fair Halls 19 and 20 include Accessories by Park Lane, Shrieking Violet, Carrie Elspeth and Big Metal London. “We are excited to see where the investment, energy and positivity of ITE Group takes Jewellery & Watch in 2019 and beyond,” says Broere. “Jewellery & Watch 2019 can be considered a transitional show, but we look forward to showcasing hints of what’s to come, including a new seminar schedule and a closer relationship with Spring Fair exhibitors and visiting buyers.” IN BRIEF Show Jewellery & Watch Organiser ITE Group Where NEC Birmingham When 3rd-7th February, 2019 Website jewelleryandwatchbirmingham.com Twitter @JewelleryWatchB For more information or to register for tickets, visit jewelleryandwatchbirmingham.com giftfocus 91 J&W
