Gift Focus - Jan/Feb 2019 (Issue 111)

178 giftfocus BAKEDIN Stand: 5B130 W: bakedin.co.uk Bakedin began in 2013 as an antidote to the mess, fuss and waste associated with traditional baking. The aim was to create a time- saving baking kit that still provided the full baking-from-scratch experience with less of the hassle. Now, Bakedin is renowned for its mouth-watering baking kits and innovative mug mixes, including the Bakedin cake or cookie in a card, the greetings card with a difference. Each card contains either a scrumptious chocolate brownie or gooey cookie mug mix and chocolate beans. After opening, the lucky recipient can bake the cake or cookie in a mug in the microwave in under two minutes – just add milk and butter. For a more grown-up gift, Bakedin has created a range of cocktail cakes, inspired by two of the country’s favourite tipples. The Strawberry & Prosecco Cake Kit creates a show-stopping vanilla-flavoured cake drizzled with prosecco syrup and filled with fresh strawberries and prosecco flavoured buttercream. Winner of a Great Taste Award, the Gin & Tonic Cupcake Kit makes the perfect gift for lovers of gin and cake. The sponge is made with tonic water and drizzled with gin, while the gin-flavoured buttercream and lime wedge gives a delicious but subtle flavour. Each kit contains a Michel Roux OBE recipe and all the dry ingredients, plus an alcohol miniature, step-by-step recipe and some handy extras. Visit the stand at Spring Fair to see the full range. WRAPTIOUS Stand: 3T10 W: trade.wraptious.com Wraptious is excited to be back at Spring Fair, introducing new artists and artworks to the gift industry. Twice a year, the company invites artists to enter its competition, with the public choosing the winners. This year, the competition received nearly 2,000 entries and saw an excellent resurgence in landscape art, reflected in winner Phill Taffs’ and runner-up Clare Buchta’s work. The stunning and visually striking designs will be launching at Spring Fair as both greetings cards and vegan-suede cushions. “Clare and Phill’s work is so different to anything we’ve shared before,” says Simon Wadsworth, Wraptious director, “It’s beautiful, unique and I’m really excited to see what our customers think.” One success story for 2018 was the popularity of the felt dog cushions by Sharon Salt. New designs have been added, and the range has expanded on to cards, mugs and coasters. New Splatter designs by bestselling artist Katherine Williams will be available at the show, as well as new designs by 2018’s fastest-growing artist, Sue Gardner. New appliqué designs by Kate Findlay and by oil artist Olivia Hicks will also be on display. Finally, the company launched eight-by-eight-inch Canvas Minis in Autumn 2018, and these flew off the shelves over Christmas. By popular demand, Wraptious is now also launching 40-by-40cm canvases, which will be decorating the company’s Spring Fair stand for the first time. Exclusively for Spring Fair, Wraptious is offering free delivery on all orders placed at the show, with no minimums. exhibitor profiles
