Paul Wright, co-founder of HOCHANDA, will give a personal review of social changes that have had an impact on the craft industry and how crafts are passed down generations. He will also cover building a successful craft business by harnessing new and emerging communications technologies. Sarah Cressall (pictured), founder of Creation Station, will share her practical tried-and-tested activities and ideas to give customers memorable in-store experiences. Linda Jones, research specialist from LJ & P, will deliver this year’s Craft Report. The results of the Craft Report for 2019 are taken from a larger-than-ever sample of crafters, following surveys and focus groups conducted in late 2018, and will provide key trend predictions and industry insights. Knititation, combining knitting and mindfulness meditation, will be presented by the duo behind the new trend, James Mcintosh and senior consultant Dr Thomas Ernst. Visitors will learn more about how to extol the wellness benefits of crafting to customers. Steffi Stern from The Makerss will also share her sales knowledge, talking about fundamental attitudes to selling products and how to be authentic and passionate, as well as how to spot opportunities. Other experts presenting at the show include top-100 global influencer Warren Knight, sharing his knowledge of digital marketing, Liz Rivers and Nicola Lugard Davies imparting decades of experience on creating window displays and the team from Let’s Knit and Sew magazines speaking about their successful Yarn Shop Day and Sew Saturday campaigns. ICHF’s mission is to have a crafter in every household, and by supporting the industry we are getting a step closer to that goal.” Scoop International teams up with V&A museum for February show Scoop has announced a partnership with the V&A, which will see the show collaborate with the world’s leading museum of art, design and performance, placing the spotlight on the opulent floral designs of William Kilburn. Scoop will celebrate the V&A’s archive of Kilburn’s pattern throughout the show and across all show material. British brand Pyrus London will be using the print to create designs for Scoop staff to wear on-site, and Ratti Spa will be producing coordinating silk scarves. British stationery brand Papier will be providing notebooks featuring the beautiful print. Karen Radley, founder and managing director of Scoop, says, “We’re hugely excited to be collaborating with the V&A, a museum that has been synonymous with creativity in art and design throughout its history and remains at the vanguard of innovative design.
