Highlights from the jewellery trade show included the opening of the Spotlight on Birmingham by The Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Councillor Yvonne Mosquito, top designers Q&A as part of Goldsmiths’ Uniquely UK showcase, including Theo Fennell, Stephen Webster and Ute Decker, the first IJL Blog Awards and the Retail Experience Awards and Gem Empathy award. Fotoulla Michael, head of sales at IJL, said: “Overall, we have had a pleasing response from exhibitors and visitors to IJL 2018. It felt lively and bustling, with an apparent appetite to buy, and it was wonderful to welcome a host of well-known jewellery designers. Top UK and international manufacturers were very much in evidence, and we greatly enjoyed shining a spotlight on the fantastic past, present and future of the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham. We look forward to building on the show’s successes and to creating another must-attend IJL in 2019 that will continue to develop to meet exhibitors’ and visitors’ needs.” The next IJL will return to Olympia from 1 st - 3 rd September, 2019. NEW PURE LIVING SHOW TO LAUNCH MARCH 2019 The Pure Living Lifestyle & Home Fair is a brand-new event coming to the heart of London to showcase the best of artisan craftsmanship and independent design flair. Taking place at the Business Design Centre (BDC) Islington, London from 4 th -5 th March, 2019, it will play host to 250 innovative and emerging designers and brands from a broad creative spectrum, including: home living; fashion and accessories; beauty and wellbeing; gifts and greetings; and kids’ living. With exhibitors from across Europe, buyers can expect to discover new design talent and products from a range of countries. The diversity of products will mean The Pure Living Lifestyle & Home Fair is a place for buyers, from retail giants and boutique outlets to online retailers, to create new relationships with like-minded, design-driven creatives. All exhibitors are hand-picked to ensure the fair has an inspiring mix of brands and products in every section. The event will also offer buyers an opportunity to gain knowledge of and exposure to new trends, products and resources, while also experiencing new ideas and creative ways to support their businesses. There will be plenty of opportunities for networking with other retailers and designers and the opportunity to meet industry-specific journalists.
