First Babar children's games and puzzles launched

ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVS GE), which represents UK rights for the classic literary brand Babar on behalf of Nelvana and The Clifford Ross Company, has announced a new UK distribution deal with Stepping Stones Marketing for Babar games and puzzles.

The Babar Wooden Magnetic Shapes Set and the Babar Deluxe Puzzle Wheel from specialist toy and gift design group Mudpuppy will be distributed from early autumn by Stepping Stones Marketing, a leading UK distributor of educational toys. The products will initially be made available in 500 independent gift and toy stores across the UK as Stepping Stones Marketing works closely with ITVS GE to re-launch this iconic and well-loved brand through mid to up-market specialist stores. Other gifting and department stores are targeted for the Christmas period.

Mudpuppy's Babar Wooden Magnetic Shapes Set allows little fans to create all sorts of scenes with colourful wooden magnets that show Babar, his family, friends, and other citizens enjoying life in Celesteville. In Mudpuppy's Babar Deluxe Puzzle Wheel, six colourful pieces fit into a central hub to form a 30.5 cm diameter puzzle. The pieces are extra thick for small hands and fit neatly into a rounded, hinged package with a button and elastic closure. The reverse of the puzzle forms a colour wheel, and the package is decorated with foil accents. One side of the package is flattened so it can stand upright for display.

This agreement marks another important stage in the continuing development of the Babar brand in the UK where Babar celebrates his 80th birthday in 2013.
