Derwent celebrates the Royal Wedding

To mark the Royal Wedding on 29th April 2011, Derwent has created the Majestic - a special limited edition wooden presentation box.

Only 500 of the special commemorative boxes have been made, each one filled with a selection of water-soluble Derwent pencils and blocks together with a range of complementary accessories.

The company has also commissioned professional artist Angela Gaughan-Owens to draw a portrait of Prince William and Catherine Middleton using the Derwent art materials included in the Majestic box. The portrait is presented in a gold-coloured wooden frame. The first Majestic wooden box made will be presented to the happy couple as a wedding gift.

Made from maple with a walnut veneer the Majestic features a selection of over 150 pencils, block and painting sticks from some of Derwent's classic ranges. The selection of accessories includes natural sponges, a ceramic palette for mixing, water brush, grippers to hold Inktense blocks, pencil extenders and a wooden pencil pot.

Each presentation box comes complete with a commemorative scroll, an individually numbered plaque on the lid and a certificate of authenticity signed by David Sharrock, managing director of Cumberland Pencil Co. makers of Derwent fine art pencils.
