Whizz Kid Games, a designer of environmentally-friendly, educational games, has launched in London.
The company, which focuses on developing games for children that support the key stage 1 and 2 curriculum, is the brainchild of former Lagoon Group MD Heather Watherston.
Heather says, "When my children were younger, I used to make games to help them spell, tell the time and learn their times tables. I believed that involving and engaging them in games helped them to learn. Then recently, during the coronavirus pandemic, I've seen parents everywhere really struggle to home school their children and I thought now's the time to launch a company to help all these parents! So, Whiz Kid Games, with its mission to entertain and educate, was born!"
As well as trying to bring people together to play and learn, Whiz Kid Games is environmentally-focused.
Heather continues, "Whiz Kid Games manufacture in Europe not only to avoid the damage of long-distance travel on the environment but because our partner there prides itself on its green credentials using 100% renewable energy to power its plants.
"We'll print on FSC paper and playing pieces and dice for the games will come from local, sustainable forests while colours will all be water-based and non-toxic. All materials will be 100% recyclable."
Whiz Kid Games will be launching its first product range for distribution in the UK and internationally in Spring 2021. For more information email heather@whizkidgames.co.uk or visit www.whizzkidgames.co.uk
