Busy Bee Candles granted patent for Magik Candle®

Busy Bee Candles granted patent for Magik Candle®: Image 1 Magik Candle®, a flameless scented candle product designed and developed by Busy Bee Candles, was recently granted a patent. The product was developed to improve the safety of traditional scented candles and the ease by which they are used. The invention by Busy Bee Candles does away with wick trimming and the need for vigilance with an open flame.

Product development began in 2016, with a mind to finding an alternative that would still look like a candle, display well and throw fragrance at least as well as a traditional scented candle. After several months of tweaking, prototypes, and experimentation, the original Magik Candle was created. The product consists of a glass jar with a hollow centre. The cavity between the inner and outer wall of the jar is filled with high-strength scented wax. The jar is placed over an electric base station that houses a special light bulb. As the bulb heats, the wax liquefies. The wax then releases the fragrance and the bulb through the wax gives the appearance of a flame without the risks. The candle can also be adjusted to control the strength of the fragrance, and each jar provides up to 200 hours of fragrance.

Haitham Al-Ubaidi, Director at Busy Bee Candles Ltd, said: “we were stunned by the results. It was amazingly effective in producing a fabulous fragrance throw, was so easy to use, required virtually no user interaction, and could be left switched on as long as you like without flames to worry about. It also lasts a long time as the wax is not depleted! The Candle can even be recharged with our Fragrance Oils! We believe we've created the perfect scented candle.”

Busy Bee Candles applied for a patent, which was granted on the 30th October, 2018. This unique, British-designed patent represents a big step for the company.

Busy Bee Candles will be exhibiting at Spring Fair, stand 4B21. More information about Magik Candle® and the full product range can be found at www.busybeecandles.co.uk, including a video detailing how the Magik Candle works.
