2014 is set to be a momentous year for Scotland, with the 700th anniversary of the Battle of Bannockburn, Glasgow's Commonwealth Games, the Ryder Cup at Gleneagles and, of course, the independence referendum.
Tartan Twist has created a new collection on Pride of Bannockburn Tartan ribbon to mark this historic year. The collection, which comprises best-sellers from Tartan Twist's Scottish & Silver collection, along with other favourites, features the healthy purples, soft blues and greens of the Pride of Bannockburn tartan, one of Scotland's favourite tartans.
Gillian Crawford, Director of Tartan Twist, said: "The Tartan Twist studio, where our collections are designed and made, is situated within a stone's throw of the Bannockburn battle site. We draw a great deal of the inspiration for our designs from Scotland's history and heritage, so it seems fitting that we should look to this famous battle, and the tartan associated with it, to mark the 700th anniversary of Bannockburn and Scotland's momentous year. The Battle has inspired some of Scotland's most stirring songs and poems throughout the ages, from Robert Burns' Scots Wha Hae to Roy Williamson's Flower of Scotland, and is still inspiring Scots today."
Tartan Twist's Bannockburn collection will be launched at Scotland's Trade Fair this coming January.
