54 giftfocus hot property Half Moon Bay teams up with eco brand Huskup Half Moon Bay has announced an AW18 launch of a new collaboration with eco-friendly coffee cup brand Huskup, which offer reusable travel mugs made of rice husk, a strong, resilient material that prevents tonnes of waste going to landfill. Not only do the cups have the ability to diminish theneed for hard-to-recycle single-use coffee cups, but they are also 100 per cent biodegradable, plastic and BPA-free plus dishwasher and microwave safe. Having launched a successful partnership earlier this year distributing Huskup’s 12 original designs, Half Moon Bay was keen to combine this innovative technology with its bestselling licence. The four designs showcase iconic Harry Potter artwork including everyone’s favourite house elf, Dobby, and the famous Marauder’s Map – while letting the natural colour of the rice husk show through. Each cup is presented in a forestry managed stock gift box and finished with a recyclable silicone lid and sleeve, providing comfort and protection for those enjoying hot drinks on the go. The collection is scheduled to land in September. Additional news from Half Moon Bay is that the company has purchased the main assets of Shruti Limited (formerly Junction 18). It marks a full circle for Peter Thompson, MD of Half Moon Bay, as he worked at Junction 18 in the early 1990s. Michaela Davies, head of product development at Shruti, and some of the existing staff have transferred to Half Moon Bay. The company is also moving its warehouse operation to Warminster and plans to make full use of the extensive showrooms there. The popular Shruti open weeks will continue but will now include the extended product range.
