Gift Focus - Jul/Aug 2018 (Issue 108)

Heart of the Country is proud to announce its partnership with the Royal British Legion on this centenary year of the Armistice with the launch of a limited-edition scented sachet. This Autumn/Winter season, Heart of the Country is looking to raise £36,500 for the Legion by selling 36,500 Greenleaf Painted Poppy large scented sachets. The target of 36,500 represents every day that has passed since the end of the Great War on the 11 th of November, 1918. The Royal British Legion The Legion was founded by veterans after the First World War. A century on from the start of that conflict, it’s still helping today’s servicemen and servicewomen, veterans and their families in almost every aspect of daily life. The Legion also champions Remembrance, safeguarding the memory of those who have given their lives for our freedom through Remembrance education and events. Ben France, head of corporate partnerships at The Royal British Legion, says: “We’re delighted to have partnered with Heart of the Country and Greenleaf on the Painted Poppy Scented Sachet. The funds raised from the sale of these sachets will ensure we can continue our vital work providing through-life support to the Armed Forces Community. This year is particularly important to us as we mark the end of the First World War and lead a national movement to say thank you to the entire generation who lived through the war, served, sacrificed and changed our world. We are so grateful for every moment of support.” Ben Stubbs, director at Heart of the Country, commented: “This year will be the 100 th anniversary of the end of the First World War. So many of us, including [fellow director] Toby and I, have great grandparents and great uncles who fought, died or survived and families who gave everything in the Great War. We owe them everything we have today, and they should never be forgotten.” The Scented Sachet Each large Greenleaf Painted Poppy sachet will bear the iconic poppy of the Royal British Legion and the Poppyscotland logo and donation information. Painted Poppy is Greenleaf’s new fragrance for Autumn/ Winter 2018. It is a confident fragrance with a powerful boost of juicy mandarin, a floral heart and a base of warmmusk and amber. Each beautifully decorated scented sachet will fragrance a room for up to four months by just being there. Greenleaf’s scented sachets are 100 per cent biodegradable and made using the naturally occurring mineral vermiculite, made with recycled paper and essential oils. Scented Sachets are just about the safest way to fragrance your home, with no heat, no flame and no liquid – just fragrance. Manufactured in South Carolina, U.S., Greenleaf has been producing sachets for more than 40 years and is the original scented sachet. The Donation For every sachet supplied at trade, Heart of the Country will donate £1 directly to the Royal British Legion. To achieve this donation, Heart of the Country will be sacrificing its margin. Greenleaf, the manufacturer, has also generously supplied the sachets at a reduced cost to Heart of the Country. The final contribution is made by the retailer, who will pay £0.25 extra per sachet, taking the unit trade cost from £1.44 to £1.69. This final contribution means £1 of the £1.69 total trade cost will go directly to the Royal British Legion. For sachets sold in Scotland, the £1 donation will be directed to Poppyscotland, the Legion’s partner charity north of the border. g businesses with heart Heart of the Country launches Greenleaf Painted Poppy Sachets in support of the Royal British Legion Heart of the Country will be launching Greenleaf’s Painted Poppy Sachet in support of the Royal British Legion at Home & Gift, Harrogate, Stand A26.
