The company is perhaps less well known as a supplier of products with environmental credentials, but that is all set to change with a new focus on the very positive trend of increasing demand for products that reduce the load on the planet. We all know we need to consume less and recycle more, but how do you square that with buying beautiful things for the home and as gifts? Namaste believes that by focusing on items made from recycled or environmentally friendly raw materials and ensuring they are made under Fairtrade guidelines, this can be achieved. The company makes sure to discuss its environmental policies and use of recycled materials with its suppliers while encouraging them to use both recycled and environmentally friendly packaging materials. Customers are becoming more and more interested in these subjects, and Namaste’s loyal band of retailers are reporting back that interest in these product areas is booming and driving sales forward. Namaste’s 2018 catalogue has just been printed and features an increased range of recycled and environmentally friendly products again. It has also improved the labelling of these in the catalogue to quickly identify them and to provide their valued customers with more information. Open Week The busy team in Yorkshire is gearing up for its Open Week during the week of Harrogate’s Home & Gift Show (which runs from 15 th -18 th July, 2018). Namaste’s impressive and well- organised showroom is in the market town of Skipton, 30 minutes from Harrogate. ‘Namaste’ can be simply translated as ‘welcome’ in the Himalayan country of Nepal, and this has a special resonance during the company’s Open Week.
