MANDARIN ARTS Stand: 4F70 mandarinarts.co.uk At the start of the Chinese New Year of the Dog in February 2018, a spectacular exhibition showcasing the greatest archaeological find of the 20 th century opens in Liverpool. The burial site for the First Emperor of unified China, Qin Shi Huang, began more than 10 years before his death in 210 B.C. and contained life-size terracotta warriors, each with original features, hairstyles and clothing or armour. The actual burial mound of the emperor has never been excavated because archaeologists want to be sure that they will not fall victim to crossbow traps or to mercury poisoning from the reproduction of Chinese rivers in the grave (as recorded by the famous historian Sima Qian) and that they will have enough technical expertise to preserve the contents and any pigments as they are found. Mandarin Arts hopes that you will come and see their collection of warriors which will be on its stand F70 in Hall 4. It’s showtime
