Gift Focus - Jan/Feb 2018 (Issue 105)

giftfocus 89 spring fair preview It’s showtime BLUE POPPY ART – FRITH SCULPTURE Stand: 4G52 frithsculpture.co.uk After a successful introduction to the market of its first hedgehogs last year, Frith Sculpture has increased the collection considerably and launched a new product group called Hedgehog Haven. The original sculptures are designed by Thomas Saunders at his Dorset studio and made by hand by Frith’s artisans at the Exmoor factory. With nine designs in total they range from only £25 retail and make an excellent and unusual present. To help introduce the collection Frith has created some special point of sale which every retailer will receive together with an attractive introductory free stock offer to all customers ordering their suggested initial order. Supplied in new attractive gift boxes Frith is leading the way in innovative cold cast bronze sculptures. Also new for 2018 is the creation of Friths Cockapoo Club. Again, after a trial launch last year of these most popular of dogs, Frith has expanded its range and formed a new product group. After having produced dog sculptures for more than 20 years the company has reported that Cockapoos and Labradoodle sales have exceeded any product it has ever had in the past. David Wilkinson, Managing Director, admits that they have struggled to meet the demand and have organised increased production in 2018. Also on display will be all of Frith’s 200 strong collection which includes the new Minima – a range of mini works of art based on their larger models, hares sculpted by Paul Jenkins, Highland Cattle created by Veronica Ballan and much more. CLASSIC CANES Stand: 20K10-L11 classiccanes.co.uk Walking stick specialists Classic Canes will have a selection of new walking sticks, folding canes and seat sticks to introduce at this year’s Spring Fair. These will include the floral patterned, height- adjustable orthopaedic canes shown. Managing Director, Charlotte Gillan explains, “Most walking stick users like their cane to be a fashionable extension of their personal style, but it can be difficult to find attractive walking sticks for sufferers of conditions such as arthritis and rheumatism. These canes have a supportive, ergonomic handle and are available in both left and right-handed versions.”
