giftfocus 183 spring fair preview LANKA KADE Stand: 5K30 lankakade.co.uk For more than 20 years, Lanka Kade has specialised in the design and handcraft of fair trade wooden toys. All products are exclusively designed in the UK with the aim of inspiring learning through play and are recognisable for their high quality and distinctive colours. 2018 looks to be the company’s most exciting year yet as it launches a wide range of new toys at Spring Fair. Don’t miss the new dinosaur collection, which includes stacking animals, pull-alongs, jigsaw puzzles and a shape sorter. Following on from a highly successful 2017, Lanka Kade is also introducing new additions to its 10 months plus category; which includes block puzzles, jigsaws, vehicles, animals and pocket money toys. Popular core ranges including multi ethnic rag dolls, Noah’s arks, alphabet puzzles and wooden letters will also feature at Spring Fair. Every toy is handcrafted by skilled artisans in Sri Lanka with whom Lanka Kade has direct trading relationships with. Producer stories are included on the packaging, whilst sales help support the Lanka Kade educational foundation which provides books and daily milk drinks to several rural schools in Sri Lanka. As a fair trade company, Lanka Kade is a proud and active member of BAFTS (The British Association of Fair Trade Shops and Suppliers). Be the first to see the exciting new additions and collect your copy of Lanka Kade’s new 2018 catalogue at the show! GLEBE COTTAGE Stand: 3U60 & 3U61 ecofriendly.cards The Eco-friendly Card Company, Glebe Cottage, will be exhibiting on two stands at the Spring Fair. Stand 3U60 will showcase its photographic ranges including the licensed collection of cards, stationery and calendar in support of The Wildlife Trusts. The Wildlife Trusts 2018 calendar was Callies award nominated for Best Charity Calendar and the publisher won the Best Bespoke Calendar for its Lost Gardens of Heligan title. The publisher also offers a beautiful selection of spring floral greeting cards and notecards, as well as stunning British landscape and nautical collections. Directly opposite the photography, Stand 3U61 will display art collections featuring original designs from 14 contributing artists. There are new additions from best-selling artists Kate Andrew and Sally Rich as well as brand new collections from Manda Beeching and Clare Henley. The publisher is launching its new 2018 Art Cards brochure at the show and retailers are invited to visit the stand to collect their free copy. All cards and notecards are FSC certified, printed on 100 per cent recycled board, or paper made from 50 per cent recycled coffee cup waste, printed in the UK with vegetable-based inks using green energy, and are packed with 100 per cent recycled envelopes in a compostable bag. CREATIVE TOPS Stand: 9G20-H21 creative-tops.com Creative Tops will launch new additions to the bohemian- inspired Festival Folk collection by British designer, Katie Alice. Katie harmonises the vibrancy of outdoor festivals with her vintage style on this tableware for colourful and casual dining al fresco. Festival Folk celebrates the eccentricity of bohemian lifestyle with a mix-match of colour, shapes and Scandinavian folk art patterns. New additions see Katie style her vibrant folk florals with sparks of colour onto natural, pressed bamboo picnicware. The company will introduce new springtime characters as part of the Into The Wild collection. The Little Explorers come padding out blinkingly from cosy dens for their first adventure across children’s tableware: a fawn, fox cub, baby bears and a tiny bunny decorate products such as dinner sets, cutlery and nibbles pots, bringing with them wishful slogans like ‘Be brave little bear’ and adventurous ‘Let’s go wild’ exclamations. From its most recently acquired licence, Roald Dahl, Creative Tops is also excited to launch magical James and the Giant Peach tableware. With sky blue and peach colours, James and the Giant Peach products feature original storybook illustrations of James’ enchanted adventure with his charming insect family and their flying fruit home across different styles of mugs and a laptray. New additions will also be revealed to Alice In Wonderland by V&A, a fantastical collection for curious afternoon tea! Decorated with hand-drawn scenes taken from the original book’s illustrations, this collection is beautifully made with real gold decal and is presented in puzzle box packaging. © THE ECO-FRIENDLY CARDCO.
