New products, trends and, of course, first and foremost, the purchasing behaviour of the end consumers, who prefer convenience but, at the same time, want shopping to be an experience – not least during Advent and the run-up to Christmas. With a range of products on offer from currently almost 1,000 exhibitors, and an inspiring Trend Show, special exhibition, specialist lectures and workshops, Christmasworld provides a fabulous platform for ordering and business deals. The leading international trade fair for seasonal and festive decoration focuses on the most emotive and, equally, the most lucrative time of year: Christmas. At the same time, it demonstrates the potential of seasonal decorations as a source of additional sales all year round. “We observe developments in the consumer-goods market very closely and constantly adjust our show accordingly, so as to meet new needs and demands. In doing so, we hope to unleash fresh sales potential for our visitors and exhibitors alike,” says Eva Olbrich, Director of Christmasworld, Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH. FLORADECORA Floradecora has been a natural extension of Christmasworld since 2017, offering a new marketplace for immediately available fresh flowers and decorative plants. It’s now to be held for the second time, from 26 th – 29 th January, 2018, in Hall 11.1. The year 2018 will also see the introduction of the new product group Christmas Delights in Galleria 1, offering drinks, biscuits, sweets and tea. “We’re convinced that this product range will provide the perfect complement to seasonal decorations and ensure additional sales – and, indeed, across all forms of the retail and trade,” adds Director Olbrich. Visitors to Christmasworld include buyers from both the wholesale and retail trade – which covers, for example, garden centres, building supplies and DIY stores, florists, furniture and furnishings stores, gift shops, glass, porcelain and ceramics retailers, drug-stores, perfume retailers, food and grocery stores as well as buyers from shopping centres, towns and local communities, the restaurant and hotel trade, together with event organisers, shop-window dressers, interior designers, architects and decorators. Christmasworld is one of the most international trade fairs in Messe Frankfurt’s portfolio (59 per cent of the visitors and some 78 per cent of the exhibitors come from outside Germany). Its major strength lies in its clear focus on Christmas and all the other festivals in the year. At the finally tally, a total of more than 43,200 visitors from 110 countries came to Frankfurt am Main to attend Christmasworld /Floradecora in 2017; they were there to find out about the new products and trends on offer from the 1,061 exhibitors, representing 42 different countries – from the latest baubles for the Christmas tree, to tree decorations, candles and Easter decorations as well as some impressive shop- window presentations with moving figures and lighting designs for shopping malls and town centres. The seven halls of the exhibition brought together anything and everything that helps create emotive retail scenarios and encourages sales. QUARTET OF TRADE FAIRS WITH ADDED VALUE Valuable synergies for buyers at Christmasworld and Floradecora are offered at the concurrently held trade fairs, Paperworld, international trade fair for paper, office supplies and stationery, and Creativeworld, international trade fair hobby, handicrafts and artists’ requisites (27 th - 30 th January 2018). Areas such as decoration, writing and handicrafts are becoming more closely associated with one another, both at the wholesale and retail level and for the end consumer, too. The new quartet of fairs brings with it additional stimulus for business and networking; ideas for sensibly extending the range of goods a retailer carries, for instance. It makes a trip to Frankfurt well worth it, several times over! Visit christmasworld.messefrankfurt.com for further information. “
