Cardzone Group acquires Clintons

Cardzone Group parent company Pillarbox Designs has acquired Clintons, with the company's 163 stores adding to Cardzone's 180 outlets.

Cardzone Founder Pat Taylor said he was proud to be the nation's "only national specialist chain selling quality cards."

Having been owned by the Weiss family since 2012, the deal to purchase Clintons was originally set to take place before COVID."

Cardzone will retain the Clinton's brand name, according to Taylor: "The name is still synonymous with quality greeting card retailing.

"There will be some changes, but we are very excited to be growing our family business with Clintons joining our portfolio."

Eco Card Company teams up with Terracycle on recycling initiative

As well as offering cards with a "card-clasp" label, the Eco-friendly Card Co also offers cards, calendars and Christmas packs in compostable corn-starch bags certified with the compostable "Seedling" logo (EU composting standard EN13432).

The publisher can now take back any Eco-friendly Card Co compostable packaging for disposal through the Zero Waste bins offered by Terracyle.

Kite Packaging launches an expandable m spec mailer

Online UK packaging supplier Kite Packaging has launched an expandable m spec mailer ideal for shipping various small goods. The corrugated mailer can be used as a flat letterbox friendly envelope or it can be converted into a small parcel box depending on the goods packaged inside. An adhesive peel-&-seal strip makes for quick, easy and secure seals, while pre-creased grooves allow users to easily pop the envelopes out into a box, improving pick and pack efficiency for greater order fulfilment and cost savings. Manufactured with strong corrugation, these mailers provide crush resistance and compression strength when they come into contact with other boxes or heavy items, ensuring goods are well protected during shipping.

Greetings card Lima Lima announces expansion

Based in Colwyn Bay, Lima Lima was launched by Carly and James Brands in 2015 and got off to a flying start, producing and selling daring and risqué gifts and cards that quickly gained popularity and began selling the world over. The impact of Brexit that same year took its toll on the company, notably in Europe, but the couple have diversified and bounced back. They achieved a significant rise in turnover, sell more than 550,000 items annually, and now employ up to 10 full and part-time staff. As they prepare to move to new, larger premises in the seaside town, they have big plans for the future and a fresh selection of product ideas.

Kite Packaging Enters Third Year of Carbon Neutrality

March 2023 brought renewed confirmation of carbon neutrality for Kite Packaging Group Limited from Carbon Neutral Britain.

In 2022, Kite achieved carbon neutral status under Scopes 1 and 2, extending their offsetting to also include third-party deliveries under Scope 3. Following on from last year, the employee share-owned company has maintained this, successfully offsetting a total of 1338 tonnes of COe emissions, far exceeding their emissions for the year.

All Kite trucks and outbound deliveries made by third-party couriers have been offset and are therefore carbon neutral.

The company is continuing to operate with carbon neutral delivery, whether that is between Kite's NDC and RDCs or directly to their customers and will be shown on customer delivery notes.
